Frequently asked questions about the Over Protocol staking system
What is the Target Deposit Plan?
The Target Deposit Plan is a predefined growth trajectory for the protocol's total deposits. It consists of two phases with different growth rates: an early phase with steeper growth to bootstrap the network, and a later phase with more moderate growth. The plan helps maintain sustainable growth and optimal staking yields.
What is the Feedback Boost?
The Feedback Boost is a dynamic reward adjustment mechanism that helps align actual deposits with the target deposit plan. When actual deposits are below target, the boost increases rewards to incentivize more staking. When deposits exceed the target, it reduces rewards to maintain sustainable growth. This creates a self-regulating system for optimal protocol growth.
How is the APR calculated?
The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) combines two components: the base staking rewards and the feedback boost adjustment. The base rate provides consistent rewards for securing the network, while the feedback boost dynamically adjusts based on how actual deposits compare to the target plan. This ensures competitive yields while maintaining sustainable growth.
What is Epoch Issuance?
Epoch Issuance represents the total OVER tokens distributed as rewards during each epoch (approximately 6.4 minutes). It includes both the base issuance and any additional rewards from the feedback boost mechanism. The issuance adjusts dynamically based on the current state of deposits and the target deposit plan.
